The Dragons’ Den

Submissions are now: CLOSED

Launched at the CX Innovation Showcase in 2007, the Dragons’ Den brings together physician inventors with new ideas in the vascular and endovascular field. Candidates pitch for a £1000 prize for the most promising innovation in the management of vascular disease. The prestige value attached has allowed previous cash prize winners to gain additional funding for their technologies.

Dragons’ Den Guidelines:

  • Define the clinical unmet need that you are seeking to address.
  • Explain how the technology works and that it has IP protection.
  • Estimate the market potential i.e., is there a viable business to invest in?

The Dragons’ Den will take place on the afternoon of 25 April 2024, at the ExCeL, London. It is the finale of the CX Innovation Showcase programme on the final day of the CX Symposium.

Words from Previous Winners

CX 2023: Pieter Doevendans ‘ECG anytime, anywhere in 60 seconds’ (left)

“It is important to get a podium for innovation and a competition brings the best of you to the stage. The most important benefits are the public and the board, you are forced to bring a simple message for translation from ideas to the market. My advice is to use your slides (ppt) as guidance, but make the story personal, customized to the public, and give a simple take-home message.”

CX 2019: Petra Apell ‘The HeadPeace radiation protection textile’ (right)

“I’m proud to be announced as the winner in the Dragons Den at CX Symposium, which is recognized as one of the key global meetings in endovascular surgery. Receiving recognition from the expert panel proves that our patented textile and products fulfil true customer needs.”
